August 31, 2008
I am a registered nurse. I was recently terminated from a local hospital after nearly 16 years of service for an act, on a computer, that was believed to have occurred on company time. In fact, the computer conversations in question occurred on my off days and off time. Rather than investigate the allegations prior to firing me, they fired me and then tried to decide if what I was telling them was the truth. After determining the conversations did not occur on company time, I was, months later, offered a job at the hospital, with a demotion and a lesser pay. I refused to go back as I had assumed another position at a local hospital, but continue to make a lesser salary/wage. I had in fact mitigated my own damages.
I am outraged at the approach my "contingency based" attorneys took and just prior to my eeoc statute of limitations expiring, I filed a federal lawsuit, PRO SE, against the hospital alleging two separate civil right violations. The filing is two days old...
If anyone has any suggestions, previous court findings/rulings, or anything that would support my case, please contact me at lbanksrn@yahoo.com
Thanks for your time.

Despite what Ben would have you believe, this is not a free speech issue.

Science, by definition, cannot make any claims about God or any other supernatural forces, either for or against their existence. How would you test the supernatural using natural means? The basis of science is to make falsifiable predictions. How could one even begin to attempt to falsify God?

That is the real reason why ID and Creationism cannot be in science classes. Even Michael Behe, one of the strongest proponents of Intelligent Design, admitted at the Kitzmiller v. Dover trial 3 years ago that if we expanded the definition of science broad enough to include Intelligent Design, then even astrology would be considered science.

If one wishes to talk about ID or Creationism, one is actually completely free to do so, even now. That's why there are philosophy and religious studies classes.

Thank you for your comments! It is true that he did not include the individuals/groups you mentioned, but from what I could tell, the main point he was trying to make is that ID proponents are being "expelled" or ostracized from the scientific community in an effort to silence their point of view.

It would appear that there is a concerted effort to exclude anything that would argue some type of intelligent design, whether TEI, creationists, etc. The main thing that our youth, and may adults, are being indoctrinated is with Darwinistic evolution and the absence of any God or any type of moral code. A very dangerous thing for our society and this world in my opinion. Hitler, Stalin and many other historical leaders held this view and caused much pain and suffering as a result.

Science is not longer the study of God's creation but has become the study of a creation without God. It is not surprising that many of the results of thier studies come up void...remove God from the equation/study and what do you have left? Nothing.

It's interesting how he specifically expelled religious scientists who accept evolution from his film though. Google Mathis and Ken Miller and see what the producers had to say about him. Also notably absent was any member of the American Scientific Affiliation (all Christian scientists).

Also absent from the film was the Theistic Evolution viewpoint (very different beast from Intelligent Design, TEists generally reject ID, and vice versa).
